It’s comical to watch an 11 year old boy do a cross-stitch project for school. I picked him up from school on Friday, he tossed a large plain envelope in my lap and said “here, I have to finish this over the weekend.” I thought oh crap, what classwork didn’t you finish, kid? He said “it’s a cross-stitch project that I need to do. They are making me finish it. I don’t want to but I have to.” Huh. Cross stitch? Really? So, after a busy Saturday of baseball…playing hard, striking out batters and making plays he sat down on the couch and sewed. Bahahaha!!
To the neighbor kid who likes to hang with my little guy…it is not okay to call him stupid and idiot. Nor is it okay to make up blatant lies and ‘tattle’ on him. You don’t know it but I can hear everything you two talk about. I’m onto you and I’m calling your bluff, small fry, every time. I’m sorry that your parents aren’t teaching you right and wrong. I hope that you realize that these social skillz of yours need to improve before you hit grade school b/c someone is going to clean your clock if you keep it up. It just may be MY kid.
I knew I saved recordings of Friends on my dvr for a reason. When it’s 1am and you can’t sleep, nothing helps kill time like my most favorite show. Between Ugly Naked Guy, Janice’s annoying laugh & her Oh. My. God., Smelly Cat and everyone’s amazing comedic timing you get what goes down in the history books (and by history books, I mean, just my personal opinion) as classic television. I love that my SIL, who also happens to be my best friend, also loves this show and I can text her a random Friends line from any episode and she will text me the very next line that follows. For example : Monica to Ross: “oh my god, I wrecked your baby!” Rachel to Ross: “I hope it’s still funny when you’re in hell.” Classic. I still laugh out loud even though I’ve seen them all about 100 times.
I have the most amazing girlfriends. True friends. Honest friends that will tell me like it is. Tell me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear. They support me. Encourage me. Bless me and pray for me. I recently had a falling out with someone that was once a big part of my life. It’s only because of these true friends that I am feeling more and more confident about my decision to remove the hurtful person from my life. What would your life be like without these girlfriends?
